Rain Dance

I thought about him often
Today but never did I follow
Through
Kept my mind occupied
With those daily tasks I had to do
And as the hours of travail
My preoccupations once again
Brought his face into view
I savored the moment
As I commuted by foot
To get to the train
Walking and signing
Umbrella in hand protection
From the rain
I glance across the street
Checking for signs of permission
And there he was my grown woman crush
He's so handsome
Athletic strong and gentle
Activism runs through his veins
Giving off a passionate aura
That energy we exchange
Our eyes met
Our smiles radiated
I waited almost paralyzed in that space
He approached and I was stuck
Between two forces
But I didn't lose my shape
I felt in that moment of eternity
That we were lovers kept apart
For one season too long
And then he stepped
On the curb
Lowered himself to greet
Me under my umbrella
I saw it coming or so I thought
That greeting on the cheek
But he my crush
Planted that pressing on my lips
While squeezing me!
