Lastly
I never believed in love at first sight
I still don't but I promise when I saw
His face on that open mic poster
I swooned, for a second, I know
And then it started
I began a strategy
To make my free time
About him
Without divulging this
Synchronicity
To anyone, not even my mom
Laugh out loud
Then the appointed day and the hour
I saw him, I saw him perform
I heard him, I heard him sing
I wanted, I wanted a piece of him
I settled, I settled for a melodic memory
Until
Until the next time I saw him at another
Venue
It was there that I knew what I had to do
Introductions, smiles and purposeful plans
To connect again
And we did
When he strokes his guitar
I'm the only one in the room
Not really but relatively
Understand it's my dream
My art, my poetry
It's all about him
It's all about me
And then he invited me over
Because he lived around the corner
Forty five minutes literally
I thought I'm gonna be a groupie
But there was only me
I pondered
I relaxed
We chatted, we ate, we revealed just a corner
Of ourselves
And then we fell asleep, peacefully
I liked that as much as I love him now

Periotte
Talking about him makes my eyes dance
My face is all aglow
I know how it affects me
On the inside
Warm and such
As she sat listening to the memories
Described she saw a twinkling
In my cornea
She smiled
Said to me
Him you need to see
All I could say was
"I agree"
So I'm marking my calendar
As I prose
Talking about him makes my heart
Stand on it's toes
You know the point at the bottom
When I paint and color and draw
The rendition on the paper of my soul
Of the love so natural when one encounters
Their soul mate of this season
The thought of laying next to him
Lulls my spirit
And I sleep a dreamers rest
Anticipating the day, the night
The moment I find myself in his presence
He makes me leap and twirl!
My face is all aglow
I know how it affects me
On the inside
Warm and such
As she sat listening to the memories
Described she saw a twinkling
In my cornea
She smiled
Said to me
Him you need to see
All I could say was

Blinded
From the corners of your smile
To the blood that runs through
Your veins
You are who you are
By any name
But the one given
Is filled with meaning
And you will always
Be hers
No matter what treason
Life affords
Guilt is a death grip until
One admits the truth
Unfaithfulness is a murderous
Weapon and if the blame can be
Put on the next
Denial is a life long cohort
No one's friend
But as God is the only witness
Necessary
He never has to own you
Because you belong to her
Until death you do part
To live again amongst
The clouds with our God.

Solo
I live alone
I don't like it
Anymore now than I did
When my children left me
For their summer breaks
And growing sojourns
But I'm mature enough to
Know this season is a study
Program of God's proportions
A ration at a time
I'm to learn of Him and how
I've come to be
It's deeper than the eye can see
We are dense, deep and complex
Yet easy as breathing
Inhale to exhale
A poetic prophetic phrase
For me first and then for those He
Sends this way.
I live alone
I don't like it
The silence is not my cup
Of serenity
But I hear God
Speak to my heart about the
Burdens of His children and reality
I alone cannot save the world
But in His hands I am a balm
Tangible and my words are His words
Spoken to bless, to comfort, console and confirm
By the light of the moon
An evening breeze
Peace and melodies
Soothe and appease the tension that torments
I am a current of God's transforming energy.
I live alone
I don't like it.
I don't like it
Anymore now than I did
When my children left me
For their summer breaks
And growing sojourns
But I'm mature enough to
Know this season is a study
Program of God's proportions
A ration at a time

Sleeping is Sexy
Sleeping is sexy
Where else can you take someone
Into your personal space
And lay with them all night
Uninterrupted by anything or anyone
Daylight or moonlight
Sleeping is sexy
We’re suspended together
In a moment of infinite bliss
You take me
I take you
We do what we can, what we will
Sleeping is sexy
Voluntary body functions
Parts of us we control with
The greatest of staunchness
During our waking hours
Take over
And all our inhibitions are set free
Sleeping is sexy
You’re stronger and more confident
Of your sexuality when you sleep with me
And I reveal a side of me that
I’ve been charismatically hiding
Consciousness is the enemy of love
When we’re awake
Sleeping is sexy
Because we are natural
With our eyes closed
We leap over moons
Glide down galaxy slides
And land in crater sized pools
Of wetness.
Sleeping is sexy!
Where else can you take someone
Into your personal space
And lay with them all night
Uninterrupted by anything or anyone
Daylight or moonlight
Sleeping is sexy
We’re suspended together
In a moment of infinite bliss
You take me
I take you

Crossing Paths
In the moment of any day
I meet a woman
Or a man
It is a chance to plant
To grow, nurture or inspire
Yet I never know if
Crossing paths
Are meant to last
Join together
Intertwine
Just align
Or simply be
Passerby blinks and smiles
Tomorrow comes
And you dance upon
My mind through words
On screens
Posts
Smells and
Deja views
I long to sit
With you for a spell
But alas it cannot be
For I have another task
Set before me
Crossing Paths
I meet a woman
Or a man
It is a chance to plant
To grow, nurture or inspire
Yet I never know if
Crossing paths
Are meant to last
Join together
Intertwine
Just align
